A personal message...
Today is the day before Christmas here in New Zealand. People are rushing around buying last minute gifts or preparing for their holidays. Being the middle of summer it is the time of year that most New Zealander's have their holidays. Rather ironic when you consider that the greatest majority of our customers and newsletter subscribers are in the midst of their winter. Because of this Xtend-Life doesn't shut down for holidays.
Not all of our readers and customers celebrate Christmas as they are spread over 35 countries with different traditions and celebrations. For our readers who do participate in Christmas... have a merry one... and try not to eat too much!
For all customers and readers irrespective of where you live or what you celebrate at whatever time of the year I would like to extend my personal best wishes and pass on greetings from every one here at Xtend-Life. This is an appropriate time of the year to pass on these greetings as we review the year and plan to move into the next one. Of course it goes without saying that we wish all our readers a happy, healthy and prosperous 2004.
Sadly, many people tend to overlook the 'healthy and happy' component when planning for the next year due to a pre-occupation with the prosperous component. Of course it cannot be denied that in most modern societies, particularly for those people who reside in cities that there is a lot of pressure to make more money because of the high cost of living. Also, one has to provide for future personal and family financial security.
But... do not put this quest for money in front of your own health and happiness. Ironically, if you get your priorities right and look after your health and have the right attitude towards others and do everything honestly you will find happiness... which is basically peace of mind! Financial prosperity will come as a matter of course if you follow these principles. I make these comments from personal experience which I will share with you at an appropriate time in the future.
New Year's resolutions...
Do you make a new years resolution? Many people do! Interestingly many resolutions tend to revolve around health either directly or indirectly. For example, I wonder how many millions of people will make their prime new years resolution one in which they intend to lose weight. A lot I would imagine! Maybe you have made this one yourself so let's take a quick look at what generally happens...
Firstly a decision has to be made as to how that resolution is going to be achieved. Most people will opt for the 'official' method of losing weight by going on a low fat diet. This will not work and after a few weeks any gains will generally be lost and the net result is you end up back where you started from with a few extra added pounds as a 'bonus'.
Some people will get taken in by some slick advertising for a supplement that promises fast weight loss. If you have been reading this newsletter for a while you will know that the only weight loss with these products, is experienced in your wallet!
It is relatively simple to lose weight permanently but only if you do it as part of an overall program to enhance your health. Remember that being overweight is either a symptom of something that you are doing to your own body, or, as a result of some malfunction within your body. Usually the former! Bear in mind though that if it is the former it is only a question of time before you will be adding the latter, so you have to make your resolution work in the interest of your future well being.

Just remember that the first priority if you want to lose weight should be for the improvement of your health NOT for appearances. Your appearance will improve automatically as you lose weight in a natural manner whilst enhancing your health.
What I am telling you is not theoretical but fact. We have had many, many customers who were overweight and just concentrated on improving their health by following various simple principles with no specific weight objectives. They have found that in the process of improving their health their weight has normalized. This is to be expected because a side effect of improving your health is that it takes away cravings from sugary substances which are the real villains when it comes to putting on weight. Also, the urge to eat more than your body needs is eliminated, as is an increase in the desire to exercise.
Also resolve not to get the flu!
Many of our customers and readers, particularly those living in the US are concerned about the outbreaks of flu throughout the US. I have already told you about the importance of building up your immunity by using our Total Balance, so I don't have to repeat this, but what I will repeat is the importance of following the simple steps that I will outline below. Try to have your children and parents follow them as well. It is very important because if you do there is a good chance you and your family will avoid becoming infected.
To understand the importance of these steps you must also know that most flu virus's are distributed by touch not by air. They will reside on virtually any surface and they love the likes of public door handles. Most flu virus's are picked up at public places such as mall, theaters, train stations or anywhere that the public congregates.
This is what you must do...
If you are in a public place and touching things that are also touched by other people, ensure you wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face or any food.
When you wash your hands at a public facility make sure you use paper towels to dry your hands and use this procedure. A) Tuck a couple of towels under your arm, wash your hands and then use one of the towels to turn off the tap. B) Use the other paper towel to dry your hands and keep hold of that towel and use it to hold the handle when opening the washroom door to get back into the public facility. C) Dispose of the paper towel whilst being careful to not touch the part exposed to the door handle.
Point #2 is a bit difficult to follow if you are in a washroom with one of those air dryers and no paper towels. In this respect it's a good idea to keep some tissues in your pocket to handle the door handles, taps and particularly the knob on the air dryer if it is one of those type that you have to push to activate.
This may seem to be verging on the paranoia, but believe me this is how you will pick up most of these nasty virus's. So... be careful out there!

I want to thank you for being a subscriber to this news letter. Writing it is a great source of personal satisfaction thanks to the many encouraging emails I get from subscribers. An extra big thanks goes to those of our subscribers who are also Xtend-Life customers, many of whom have become friends. Without you folk there would be no newsletter.
Next year I hope to expand the number of special reports and increase significantly the amount of information available on our website on important health matters. The information will encompass a wide range of health issues and will not be limited to just those issues which our products can assist with.

I would like to ask a quick question. First, I want to tell you that I have been favorably impressed with your products in the less-than-a-year time period I have been taking them.
