Using Science To Get The Best From Nature

Since the beginning of time, we have looked to the land for natural ingredients and have celebrated the health-supporting properties of plants. Not only did early hunter-gatherers use plants as a source of food – today’s popular Paleo diet is a healthy nod to that past – they also began looking to plants as ways to support good health and wellness.

It wasn’t until scientists began isolating the active ingredients in plants that we were able to determine why – and how – certain ingredients have a positive effect on our health.

The science – the “how” behind the effectiveness of the ingredients in our supplements – is what sets Xtendlife products apart from the rest. We don’t simply blend random ingredients into our supplements for the fun of it, we make sure that each and every nutrient has been proven to be effective in the form we’ve chosen, as well as working synergistically with other ingredients.

Our history

Through research and painstaking development, Xtendlife supplements have been designed to help alleviate nutritional deficiencies and imbalances in the body that scientists believe may be at the root of many ailments, illnesses and age-related issues.

Our ingredients are combined in a way that allows them to enhance the efficacy of each other rather than cancel each other out, even in the case of our Total Balance formulas, which feature more than 70 vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes, amino acids, and other nutrients – a complete nutrient system for your body.

Sticking To The Facts...Not The Trendy Bandwagon

While each year brings with it a new ingredient or two that makes global headlines (and often loads of hype too), just grabbing any supplement off the shelf is not likely to do as much good as you’d like to think.

We, on the other hand, don’t include the latest trends until their safety and effectiveness have been proven in credible studies. We also spend time researching why ingredients are effective, how they’re effective and in what form they’re most effective, so you aren’t wasting time and money taking something that does nothing at all.

For example, may promote eye health by reducing the risk of cataracts and glaucoma, and may be beneficial to our overall health by reducing the risk of heart disease and other age-related conditions.

Many supplement providers include the nutrient in their formulas, but it is often is in the form of larger molecules that are not only sensitive to damage by stomach acid, but also are unable to pass through the intestinal walls into the blood stream. Essentially, you’re getting no benefit from the supplement, erasing its potential efficacy.

At Xtendlife, we use a special for of L-Glutathione with smaller molecules allowing it to be absorbed through the intestine and we use a special coating to protect it on its journey to the small intestine, ensuring that you’ll reap the full benefits of this important nutrient.

Vitamin E...E is for Everything

Traditional supplements almost always contain vitamin E, but usually it’s the form of known as tocopherols. While those are great, they can’t go it alone. It’s important that the tocotrienols in vitamin E are also present for our bodies to get the full benefit.

The whole spectrum of vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that helps protect your body from damaging free radicals, which are linked to heart many ailments. Vitamin E works by preventing the free radicals from generating damaging molecules during the oxidation of fat, preventing elevated levels of these molecules and potentially protecting us from inflammation that can lead to chronic disease.

Erasing inflammation through science

Scientists are beginning to understand that overtime inflammation has the potential to lead to various diseases and ailments.

Protecting yourself is important, and perhaps the most important step you can take to reduce inflammation and promote optimum health is to ensure that the vitamins in foods and supplements – the antioxidants that may help support the body against inflammation – can be absorbed properly through a healthy digestive system.

Our Total Balance features two human digestive enzymes to help improve the process. The first is amylase, the first ever to be isolated back in 1833, which is found in saliva and initiates the digestive process and helps turn starch into sugar for energy. Total Balance also includes lipase, which helps process dietary fats into fatty acids and transports them through the body.

Total Balance also includes the plant-based enzyme bromelain, found in the stems and leaves of fresh fruit, and papain, from the papaya, which may help support metabolism and energy while supplying nutrients to your cells.

Our Kiwi-Klenz formula is also designed to help boost the digestive system and support the absorption of nutrients.

Sugar is not so sweet

The overconsumption of sugar can play a big role in the aging process, and considering that sugar is sneakily hidden in a wide variety of places we don’t expect to find it, such as crackers, low-fat yogurt and whole-wheat bread, it’s important to take steps to counteract its effects.

Sugar molecules can do a lot of damage, experts say. Once on the loose, they grab onto fats and proteins in a process called glycation, which leads to stiff, malformed protein fibers, most particularly collagen and elastin – the two responsible for youthful skin. The damaged fibers now lack the strength to stand up to UV rays and cigarette smoke.

“The glucose makes the cells abnormal and it creates free radicals,” Dr. Cheryl Karcher, a New York City-based dermatologist, said in an interview with ELLE magazine. “So you get a double whammy when it comes to aging.”

Knowing why our skin looks less young and supple when exposed to sugar is the first step in finding out how to counteract the effects.

Total Balance has two ingredients focused on helping to support the skin’s ability to fight free radicals and produce collagen, including green tea extract and inositol.

Green tea extract has been shown in studies to interfere with the process of glycation, therefore protecting the skin, while inositol (found in beans, brown rice, wheat bran and sesame seeds) has been shown to help fight free radicals and prevent damage to skin cells. The right mode of delivery

To ensure that the nutrients you need for optimum health are actually reaching your body when you take them, we use four different methods of delivery.

Our Total Balance supplements are enveloped in a protective enteric coating that prevents damage from stomach acid and ensures that the nutrients get where they need to go to be released into the body so they can go to work, while our other supplements use either a traditional coating or a soft or hard gel capsule.

Through countless studies, painstaking research and clinical testing, we’ve harnessed the power of science, bringing natural ingredients and the laboratory together to provide natural supplements that pay tribute to health discoveries over the centuries through completely state-of-the-art formulas.
