Blackcurrant Extract

Most of us have eaten blackcurrants at some time and we instinctively know that they are good for our eyesight, thanks to their polyphenol content. But the benefits do not stop at eyesight. There is emerging science supporting the benefits of blackcurrants for cardiovascular health, likely due to their ability to reduce inflammation and help prevent oxidation of LDL cholesterol.

Xtend-Life have had a relationship with NZ Extracts for about 15 years. NZ Extracts have developed a unique extraction process using water so it keeps the molecular structure intact and concentrates the polyphenols. NZ blackcurrants have a higher polyphenol content than normal because of the greater UV exposure in this part of the world.

This extract is not to be confused with blackcurrant powder which is simply freeze-dried blackcurrants and is mainly sugar. In a single dose of CX8 you get the same amount of polyphenols as that in 20 whole fresh blackcurrants but without the sugar content.
